Out of millions of musicians in the world, there are only a handful of deaf musicians. We're tiny but we're extremely, powerful. Pretty much like the Matrix...we're the crew who'll unravel your brainwashed views and reprogram you with mind-boggling facts. Me? I'm your Morpheus. Which pill you gonna take? The red or blue pill? If you're not ready, take the blue and stay asleep. Choose red and well... you're in for a ride.

Welcome to the deaf world

Sup Beautiful People!

WAWA – Deaf: So What?!

AllFire 3 hours ago

WAWA delivers inspirational positive vibes with the defiant sound of “Deaf: So What?!”. Downright perfect, WAWA’s flow is impeccable with every song focusing on rising above finding true purpose. Rhythms are infectious to their core, nicely merging together elements of dance, hip-hop, and pop into a lovely whole. By far the highlight of the sound are the highly articulate, thoughtful lyrics that focus on community, togetherness, and perseverance over all obstacles. Nicely joined with light and airy arrangements the songs linger in the mind long after they are over. Throughout the album the songs build off each other, revealing an intricate narrative that ties everything together.

No time is wasted in starting the album off right with “Bounce with Me (DJ Nicar Remix)”. A lovely neon-hued melody anchors the song as the sound moves forward with joy. Much more stripped down in nature is the R&B influenced “Dopey Luv feat. Jake Sinatra”. Nimble in tone is the delicate work of “We No Hear feat. Sho’ Roc” whose vocals are reassuring in tone. Compassion and care pours out of the summery style of “Lovin’ Loving U feat. Sho’ Roc”. Much more intense is the heavy bass rumbles of “Speech Therapy”. Rather light and limber is the playful delivery of “Vendetta feat. DJ Nicar”. Easily the highlight of the album the way the song unfolds is beautiful, with a timeless message for the downtrodden. Giddiness prevails over the soothing “Kiss Me in New York” whose electro-pop leanings are pitch-perfect. Ending the album on a high note is the powerful “Plantation”.

On “Deaf: So What?!” WAWA delivers a message of hope.

Artist Review: WAWA

December 26, 2016 Artist Reach, LLC Hip Hop, Music Review, PopArtist Reach, Dip Hop, Hip Hop, Wawa

Review by: Justyn Brodsky & Stephanie Brodsky

All artists have something unique about them. And in life as we know it, we are all dealt our own hand of cards. Some of us with advantages in the hand, and sometimes disadvantages. However, the powers that be for WAWA, a deaf Artist that performs under a persona and genre called Dip Hop, is a prime example and a leader in utilizing a disadvantage into something that gives him more advantages than anything.

So I had to take a listen to his music. This past year in 2016, he released an album called Deaf: So What?! A great collection of charismatic tracks with an assortment of feature Artists, captivating hooks, and a spectrum of inspirational rhymes.

With omittance of curse words and the every day vulgarity that is in a lot of today’s Rap & Hip Hop, it’s refreshing to hear content that is safe for listeners of all ages, and has a little something for everyone. His track “Bounce With Me” is a perfect opening track, and a great example of WAWA‘s baritone-oriented rhyming style, and a female-featured hook in the chorus that drives this song forward and solidifies a very elegant and dynamic sound.

“Dopey Love” is another solid track. One that utilizes a fun play on words, catchy content, and infectious melodies that are almost impossible to get out of your head. This is yet again, another track that reels you in and gets you to continue on to the next song from this album.

That next song is “Faceless Man”. Another feature track with a very captivating beat that grabs you right at the beginning. The production value is very professional and on par with today’s mainstream sensibility. As are the other songs and the rest of the album. One that we at Artist Reach recommend impeccably and without reservation.

If you’re looking for something fresh, fun, and inspirational, Deaf: So What?! is by far one of the best draft picks before the year is out.

Even President Bobbi Cordano, got into it! AHHH! After that, my Queen and I zoomed to Busboys and Poets for my album release party.
Nearly 100 people attended and it was amazing! Thanks to every who showed the luv! DJ Supa Lee, founder of ASL Poetry & Sign Song Slam, allowed me to have it there (THANK YOU). Tara Miles did a great job as hostess and Aarron Loggins killed it with the opener for me! Was blessed to have my bro, Adam E, on stage with me. We did a song called FACELESS MAN and, as always, the brother slayed! My Queen, Kimberly performed with me on ALL THAT'S LEFT (Thanks love). Pauline Rose Moore and her husband was firing away on the phone with pictures and videos!! Talk about teamwork!
